ASHRAE has announced its 2017 Winter Conference and AHR Expo taking place in Las Vegas.
Revisions to the majority of chapters, including major updates related to thermal storage and district heating and cooling, are included in the newly published 2016 ASHRAE Handbook – HVAC Systems and Equipment.
The new ANSI/ASHRAE/NEMA Standard 201-2016, Facility Smart Grid Information Model, provides a common basis for electrical energy consumers to describe, manage and communicate about electrical energy consumptions and forecasts. The standard is packaged with a User’s Manual.
A draft standard that describes a methodology to apply building energy modeling to the design process is open for industry input. ASHRAE Standard 209P, Energy Simulation Aided Design for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings (pdf), defines minimum requirements for providing energy design assistance using building energy simulation and analysis. The proposed standard is open for public comment until May 9, 2016.
The 13th book in ASHRAE’s Datacom Series, “IT Equipment Design Impact on Data Center Solutions”, is now available. The book was developed by ASHRAE’s Technical Committee 9.9, Mission Critical Facilities, Data Centers, Technology Spaces and Electronic Equipment.
High attendance was reported for the recent ASHRAE Winter Conference and AHR Expo, in Orlando. The 2016 ASHRAE Winter Conference, was held Jan. 23-27, with the AHR Expo held Jan. 25-27.
